Edmond Police Report Teenage Girl Seriously Injured in Car Crash Due to Underage Drinking

A 15-year-old girl was seriously injured in a car crash after alleged underage drinking, according to Edmond police. The incident occurred when the victim was riding in the backseat of a car and hit her head on a mailbox. She is now being treated at an intensive care unit.

Officials stated that the victim leaned out of the window to vomit just as the driver, who was allegedly under the influence and underage, swerved the vehicle. As a result, she slammed her head into a large metal mailbox.

The teenage girl was immediately rushed to University of Oklahoma Medical Center for surgery to relieve pressure on her brain before being moved to ICU where she remains under observation.

The driver responsible for causing this accident has been arrested for DUI resulting in great bodily injury.
