A 16-year-old teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a car while riding a scooter early Friday morning. The incident took place at the intersection of West Main Street and Highland Avenue in Waterbury, Connecticut. According to police reports, officers found the teen lying on the road when they arrived on scene, but the driver had already fled.
The vehicle involved was later identified as a Cadillac XT5 and was found abandoned by authorities. The driver has not been apprehended yet. Meanwhile, the victim is being treated for life-threatening injuries at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
Waterbury Police are urging anyone with information about this accident to contact their Reconstruction Unit at 203-346-3975.
