Teenager Killed by Amazon Delivery Truck in Gramercy Park

The victim died after being run over by an electric Amazon delivery truck.
A teenager riding an electric Citi Bike was tragically killed on Friday afternoon after being hit by an Amazon delivery truck in Gramercy Park, New York. The victim, who was 18 years old and lived nearby in Stuy Town, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver of the truck stayed on site and appeared visibly distraught. "The driver of the truck was having a panic attack, screaming.
Friends of the victim expressed their shock and sadness over his untimely death.
Amazon spokesperson Sharyn Ghacham extended condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragedy: "We will continue cooperating with local law enforcement as they investigate." As of now, no charges have been filed against the driver.
The NYPD recently announced that cyclist fatalities are up 260% during first six months of 2023 compared to last year's numbers while they have spiked 325% since Vision Zero implementation a decade ago according to city statistics.
