Teenager Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash in Bird City, Kansas

Teenager seriously injured, driver of the semi-truck escaped without injury.
A teenager riding a homemade motorcycle was seriously injured after colliding with a moving semi-truck in rural Northwest Kansas. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 21st, around 5:40 p.m., near Bird City in Cheyenne County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at 1850 Road 25, less than a mile north of County Road R. Upon arrival, they discovered that a 1997 Peterbilt semi-truck driven by Edgar L. Carpenter, aged 59 and from Bird City, had been traveling north on County Road 25.
The collision took place when the teenage motorcyclist pulled out of a driveway directly into the path of the oncoming semi-truck. Unfortunately, due to privacy concerns, authorities have not released any information regarding the identity of the teenager involved in this accident.
The impact resulted in life-threatening injuries for the young rider who was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Carpenter managed to escape unharmed as he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of impact.
Law enforcement officials have stated that no further details about either party or additional circumstances surrounding this incident will be disclosed at this time.
