Teenager Struck by Tractor-Trailer While Getting Off School Bus in Gray, Maine

A 13-year-old student was hit by a tractor-trailer while getting off a school bus in Gray, Maine on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the student was crossing in front of the bus and was struck by the vehicle. According to reports from News Center Maine, the victim was found semi-conscious and transported to Maine Medical Center with "substantial injuries". Fortunately, no other students were injured during this incident.
Superintendent Craig King confirmed that all safety measures were taken as the school bus had its flashing lights on and STOP arm engaged at the time of the accident. Counselors and social workers will be available for students who require support following this traumatic event.
The authorities have identified Bard Trucking out of Farmington as owning the tractor-trailer involved in this accident. The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine what caused it.
