Thieves Steal Heavy Equipment and Crash Dump Truck into Several Cars in Portland
Early Thursday morning, thieves stole heavy equipment from a job site in Northeast Portland's Piedmont neighborhood. The stolen equipment included a dump truck, trailer, and excavation equipment. According to officials, the thieves then crashed the dump truck into several cars.
Portland police responded to a hit-and-run crash just after 4:30 am on Northeast Rodney Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, they found a crashed dump truck and several totaled cars. Officers determined that the vehicles had been taken from a nearby work site.
The impact of the collision was severe as four vehicles were hit by the stolen dump truck.
Unfortunately, the suspects fled before police arrived at the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made related to this incident.
