Three people dead, driver of semi-truck and Nissan with non-life-threatening injuries
An early morning crash in Barrow County, Georgia has tragically resulted in the deaths of three individuals, according to a statement from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 5 a.m. when troopers responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of GA 316 and GA 11.
Preliminary investigations conducted by authorities revealed that a Dodge Dart, carrying three occupants, was traveling southbound on GA 316 when it collided with both a semi-truck and a Nissan Sentra that were heading westbound. The collision occurred after the Dodge Dart allegedly ran through a red light and struck the left side of the semi-truck.
The victims have been identified as Jader Artola (37 years old), Gonzalo Balmaceda-Garcia (48 years old), and Norman Tremino-Vilchez II (17 years old). All three individuals were residents of Winder.
Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and transported both drivers involved in the crash - one from the semi-truck and another from the Nissan Sentra - to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.
The investigation into this tragic accident is ongoing as authorities work diligently to determine all factors contributing to this devastating event.
