Bradley Nevil, Sheri Nevil, and Patrick Scrivener killed in four-car wreck near Childress

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety have released details about a fatal accident that occurred on Thursday near Childress, resulting in three deaths. The incident involved four vehicles and took place at around 10:00 a.m. on June 1st.
According to a press release from DPS, the accident occurred in a construction zone on US-287 when a Crowley resident driving a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was heading northwest. Bradley Nevil, 68, and Sheri Nevil, 61, both residents of McKinney were driving directly behind the truck tractor in their Subaru Ascent while Patrick Scrivener, aged 54 and hailing from Troup was driving his Ford Escape directly behind them.
Traffic was moving slowly but not at standstill when Perryton resident who was traveling northwest approached the slow-moving traffic while driving Mac truck tractor towing another semi-trailer failed to control speed and collided into Scrivener's Ford Escape causing other cars to be wedged between two trailer trucks leading to chain reaction crash.
The impact caused all vehicles involved in the collision to come to rest in the right lane as well as shoulder of northbound lane on US-287. Tragically Bradley Nevil, Sheri Nevil along with Patrick Scrivener died instantly due to injuries sustained during this horrific accident.
