Three Dead, One Injured in Crash in Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Three dead, one injured
Three people, including one juvenile, have tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Butler County, Missouri. Another juvenile has been injured as a result of the accident. The incident occurred on August 31 at approximately 8:25 a.m.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Reports, the vehicle involved was traveling northbound on County Road 470, located four miles west of Poplar Bluff. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered off the roadway and became airborne before colliding with a tree.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Patricia McIntosh, aged 43 and hailing from Poplar Bluff. The other occupants were Lacy Gilbertsen (25 years old), a 7-year-old male child, and a 2-year-old male child. Tragically, McIntosh, Gilbertsen, and the 7-year-old succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident. Their deaths were confirmed by Butler County EMS Director David Ross at around 8:28 a.m.
The surviving occupant - the two-year-old boy - sustained moderate injuries and was subsequently airlifted to Cardinal Glennon hospital in St. Louis for medical treatment.
It is worth noting that none of those involved in this devastating crash were wearing safety restraints or devices at the time of impact.
Authorities are currently investigating what led up to this tragic incident on County Road 470 near Poplar Bluff. Further details regarding any potential factors contributing to this accident have not yet been released by law enforcement officials.
