Three People Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision in Parrish, Florida
Three people are dead following a two-vehicle collision involving a white SUV and Manatee County Government dump truck in Parrish. The accident occurred on May 15th at around 2 p.m. local time.
The dump truck was traveling west when it entered a curve on County Road 675 and drifted onto the shoulder, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol. "The report states the driver overcorrected himself and crossed the roadway in front of the SUV in the other direction. In an attempt to avoid the truck, the SUV swerved and resulted in a head-on collision."
All three fatalities were from Plant City and were traveling together: two passengers aged 71 years old and one passenger aged 80 years old. The driver of the dump truck has been identified as a 59-year-old man from Palmetto who suffered minor injuries.
"The crash remains under investigation."
