Three Franklin teens killed in single-vehicle crash in Nashville

Three teenagers from Franklin, Tennessee lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash that occurred overnight in Nashville. The Metro Nashville Police Department identified the teens as Jeffrie Prendergast, Jonathan Jesus Bravo and Jordan Posantes. The accident happened at approximately 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, June 18th near the intersection of Sidco Drive and Powell Avenue.
According to officials, an officer located a group of street racers in the Powell Avenue area and tried to stop a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Prendergast but he fled at high speed. As a result, the officer deactivated his emergency equipment and decided not to pursue the Camaro.
The Camaro crashed shortly after fleeing police through a stop sign at Powell Avenue and Sidco Drive before leaving the roadway and striking a railroad track berm which caused it to go airborne. It then traveled through a chain link fence before landing in between two semi-trailers on railroad property where it became wedged.
All three teens were pronounced dead at the scene with no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement found according to Metro police who have released no further information about this tragic incident.
