Three Hospitalized After Crash with Durham Police Officer

Three individuals were sent to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after a collision involving a police officer in Durham. The incident occurred at approximately 3:22 p.m. near East Cornwallis Road.
According to authorities, the officer was traveling west on East Cornwallis Road when a 2010 Cadillac STS attempted to make a left turn onto East Weaver Street and collided with the patrol vehicle.
Emergency Medical Services responded quickly and transported the occupants of the Cadillac, which included one adult and two children, to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The officer sustained minor injuries but did not require transportation to the hospital.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by local law enforcement officials. No further details have been released at this time.
