Three Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash on I-44 in Franklin County

Three people died
A tragic car accident involving four vehicles resulted in the deaths of three individuals on Sunday morning. The incident occurred on Interstate 44 (I-44) in Franklin County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision took place on I-44 Westbound near the 240-mile marker. It was determined that a 2020 Jeep Cherokee was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided with the front of a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The Jeep then continued down the road and struck both a 2010 Toyota Corolla and a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Tragically, all three fatalities were pronounced dead at area hospitals where they were transported after the crash. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle has been identified as Tina Degonia, aged 64, from House Springs, Missouri. Meanwhile, Sabrina Sutton (26) and Rachel Worley (27), both residents of Fishers, Indiana and occupants of the Nissan Rogue, also lost their lives.
The authorities are currently investigating what led to this devastating accident on I-44. Further details regarding any potential factors contributing to this incident have not yet been released.
