Three People Killed in Crash near Sioux Falls

A devastating accident near Sioux Falls claimed the lives of three individuals on Monday afternoon. The victims have been identified as a Minnesota man and two residents from Alabama.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:16 p.m., about 13 miles west of Sioux Falls on Interstate 90. According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2014 Ram 3500 was traveling westbound on I-90 when it sideswiped multiple vehicles before crossing into the eastbound lane. The Ram then collided head-on with a 2018 Thor Motor Coach RV.
Tragically, both vehicles were engulfed in flames during the collision, making it difficult for authorities to immediately identify them through their destroyed features and documents.
As a result of this horrific crash, interstate traffic in both directions had to be rerouted while emergency responders worked tirelessly at the scene.
Regrettably, all three occupants involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries:
- The driver of the 2014 Ram 3500 has been identified as Oday Qabsees, aged 32.
- Stephen Hudson from Alabama was behind the wheel of the 2018 Thor Motor Coach RV and also succumbed to his injuries. He was aged 58.
- Brenda Hudson, aged 60 and also from Alabama, was a passenger in the RV and tragically lost her life as well.
South Dakota's Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into this devastating crash to determine its cause and any contributing factors.
