Three Tokay High School Football Players Injured in Crash

One of the teens remains hospitalized and in critical condition.
Three high school football players from Tokay High School in Lodi, California were injured in a car crash on Sunday morning. One of the teenagers remains critically injured while the other two sustained injuries but are in stable condition.
The accident occurred when the teens' pickup truck collided with a tree on Burson Road near Carol Lane in the Burson area, according to the Calaveras Consolidated Fire Department. Emergency crews had to use hydraulic tools known as "jaws of life" to extract two of the trapped teens from the wreckage.
Marcelino Ruiz, a 17-year-old student and one of those involved in the crash, is currently hospitalized and listed in critical condition. His father, John Villagomez, revealed that his son was returning from a weekend fishing trip with his football buddies at the time of the incident.
The California Highway Patrol has initiated an investigation into determining what caused this unfortunate accident.
