Three-Vehicle Collision on State Highway 55 in Meridian, Idaho

The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on August 15. The incident took place on State Highway 55 near milepost 98.

Upon arrival at the scene, troopers discovered a collision involving a car, a semi-truck loaded with sand, and a pickup truck pulling a trailered boat. The impact of the crash caused the semi-truck to roll over and hang partially over an embankment.

Emergency services were called to the scene immediately. The driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital by air ambulance for further medical treatment.

As a result of this accident, the roadway is completely blocked off to traffic. Authorities estimate that it will remain closed for approximately two to three hours while they work on clearing up the wreckage and conducting their investigation.

In order to avoid delays or disruptions in travel plans, motorists are advised to seek alternative routes until further notice or adjust their schedules accordingly.
