Three-Vehicle Crash Slows Traffic in Brunswick County

A three-vehicle crash on U.S. 17 near N.C. 133 caused traffic delays in Brunswick County, North Carolina, on Wednesday morning. According to DriveNC, the eastbound traffic was affected near N.C. 133 around 11:42 a.m. on September 27th.

NCDOT cameras captured images of emergency crews responding to the scene where an overturned truck could be seen alongside the roadway at that time.

The incident initially involved two cars colliding with each other, resulting in one car swerving into a box truck. The impact caused the box truck driver to lose control and their vehicle rolled onto its side.

Fortunately, there were no reported life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, according to a representative from the N.C. State Highway Patrol (SHP).

To manage the situation and facilitate rescue efforts, one lane was closed starting from 1 p.m., while authorities worked diligently at clearing up debris and ensuring safety measures were in place.

At that time, the SHP representative stated that they expected full reopening of all lanes by approximately 1:30 p.m., allowing traffic flow to return back to normalcy along U.S. 17 near N.C. 133.
