Tow Truck Driver Husam Shuibat Killed in Hit and Run Crash

A tragic hit-and-run incident on the Parkway West overnight has claimed the life of a tow truck driver. The Pennsylvania State Police have identified the victim as 53-year-old Husam Shuibat, who worked for Advantage Towing out of Carnegie.
According to authorities, the suspect is believed to have been driving under the influence at the time of the crash. Witnesses reported that after colliding with Shuibat's tow truck, the driver fled from the scene. However, several alert witnesses stayed behind and provided crucial information such as the license plate number and vehicle description to first responders.
Thanks to their assistance, investigators were able to track down and apprehend the suspected DUI driver less than an hour after fleeing. The individual was taken into custody for questioning and a blood draw.
Advantage Towing expressed deep sorrow over Shuibat's untimely death. They described him as a dedicated employee who had been with their company for ten years, serving Pittsburgh for five.
The Pennsylvania Towing Association also released a statement expressing condolences to Shuibat's family and friends in Green Tree, Pennsylvania. The association confirmed that he lost his life while loading a vehicle during this hit-and-run incident. Fortunately, law enforcement managed to locate and arrest the responsible party later on.
As investigations continue into this tragic event, state troopers anticipate filing additional charges pending results from both blood alcohol tests and accident reconstruction reports.
