Tractor-Trailer Bursts Into Flames In Head-On Crash In Chester

No serious injuries were reported.
Authorities reported that Route 206 remained closed for several hours after a tractor-trailer veered off the road and burst into flames in a head-on crash on Tuesday, April 11. The incident occurred near Plant Detectives at around 7 a.m. and the Chester Volunteer Fire Company, local police, and first aid squads responded to the scene.
According to the crews, the tractor-trailer was hit head-on before veering off the road, hitting a tree in the woods, and catching fire. The second truck was also leaking a large amount of fuel after its saddle tank was ripped open. Crew members worked to douse the massive blaze and get the fluid leak under control.
As of 1:40 p.m., the highway remained closed, according to 511NJ. However, no serious injuries were reported. Other assisting agencies include the Fairmount Fire Company No.1, Long Valley, NJ, and Ralston.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
