Building destroyed, nobody injured

A building was destroyed after a tractor trailer backed into it and caused it to catch fire, according to officials. The incident occurred on Circle Dr. in Baxter at around 6 a.m. on Friday.

The driver of the truck was backing up to dump gravel when they hit the side of the business, severing a gas line which led to an explosion, as per officials present at the scene who spoke with 5 News.

Fortunately, no one was injured as the building was vacant at that time. However, the building continued burning until 8:20 a.m., while crews worked tirelessly to extinguish flames.

To fully put out the fire, officials said that they would bring in a wrecker to move the truck from its current position.

Roads surrounding this area are now open for public use again.
