A tractor-trailer accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike resulted in a massive spill of bananas, causing the road to be closed for several hours. The incident occurred early in the morning on Friday, June 30th, between Exit 67 - US 30 and Exit 48 - PA 28.
Emergency crews swiftly arrived at the scene to assess and address the situation. Fortunately, their prompt response allowed them to reopen the affected section of the Turnpike within approximately two hours.
The cause of this peculiar crash remains unknown at present. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of this incident according to Westmoreland County Dispatch. No individuals required transportation to a hospital.
This unexpected event caused quite a spectacle with bananas strewn across the roadway, leading authorities to temporarily close off access for safety reasons while they cleaned up and cleared away any potential hazards.
