Tractor Trailer Driver Hospitalized After Crash in Philippi, W.Va.

A tractor trailer driver was hospitalized on Monday morning after losing control of his truck and crashing into a tree in Philippi, West Virginia. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on July 10th along Midway Road, as reported by the Barbour County Sheriff's Department via Facebook.
The incident was initially called in as an accident with injuries and entrapment. According to the male driver, the trailer had veered off the roadway, prompting him to overcorrect. As a result, the semi went off-road, collided with both a guardrail and a tree before coming to rest beside a nearby creek.
Emergency services from Belington and Philippi Fire Departments swiftly arrived at the scene to assist in extracting the driver from his vehicle. Subsequently, he was transported by Belington Emergency Squad to Broaddus Hospital for treatment of neck and back injuries.
Fortunately, authorities have stated that they expect the driver to make a full recovery from his injuries. The sheriff's department provided this update regarding his condition.
