Tractor-trailer loses load, hits utility pole in Gastonia

No one was hurt.
A tractor-trailer overturned and lost its load of scrap metal, including car engines, on a Gastonia highway in North Carolina. The incident occurred just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning, causing the closure of South York Road between Jackson Street and West 12th Avenue for several hours. A utility pole was also damaged during the accident but no injuries were reported.
This is not an uncommon occurrence as trucks often speed through this area despite being too narrow for big vehicles near residential homes.
South York Road looks like a neighborhood road but is state-maintained.
