Officials reported a traffic accident near the Dole Fresh Vegetables plant in Bessemer City, North Carolina on Thursday afternoon. According to Gaston County Emergency Services, the incident occurred at 3:06 p.m. at 201 Southridge Pkwy.
The road had to be closed due to the severity of the accident. The Bessemer City Fire Department has requested drivers avoid this area until further notice.
Reports indicate that one person involved was a construction worker; however, it is unclear whether anyone required medical attention or was transported for care.
