17-Year-Old Gavaan Vehr Dies in Tragic Car Crash in Springfield, Missouri

A tragic car crash near Rogersville, Missouri has left a community devastated as they mourn the loss of a vibrant and charismatic 17-year-old teenager. Gavaan Vehr, described by friends and family as someone with a unique sense of humor that could brighten anyone's day, tragically lost his life in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Authorities have identified the driver responsible for the crash as 18-year-old Benjamin Sugg from Springfield. According to court documents, Sugg has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report indicates that the incident took place on Route D when a 2020 BMW X3 veered off the road and overturned. The violent impact led to Gavaan being ejected from the vehicle while two others survived – including Sugg himself and another 18-year-old man from Rogersville.
Following investigations into the crash scene by law enforcement officials revealed shoe prints leading away from it which were later determined to belong to Benjamin Sugg. With the help of a K9 officer and a drone, Greene County deputies were able to locate Sugg and bring him back to the scene.
During subsequent questioning, Sugg admitted to fleeing from the police. He revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and had lost control of his vehicle.
Benjamin Sugg is currently being held in Greene County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
This tragic incident serves as yet another reminder of how dangerous impaired driving can be, leading not only to loss but also leaving families shattered in its wake.
