Train collides with maintenance worker truck carrying County worker and three inmates

The Union County Sheriff's Office responded to a train crash involving a county maintenance worker truck on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Gadberry Street and East Academy Street around 2:30 p.m.
According to reports, the driver of the truck was a county worker who was transporting three inmates back to the detention center from a work program they were involved in. All four individuals in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
