Truck Driver Crashes into Pole, Brings Down Wires in Champion

A truck driver crashed into a pole on Mahoning Avenue near Chapel Hill Drive in Champion, Ohio on Friday morning, causing wires to come down and resulting in lane restrictions. The Champion Township Fire Department was dispatched to the scene just before 10:30 a.m., according to a social media post from the department.

The driver sustained minor injuries but refused hospitalization. Photos shared by the Champion Fire Department show wires strewn across the road and hanging from nearby poles.

Mahoning Avenue will have some lane restrictions until Ohio Edison can repair the damaged pole and wires. In light of this incident, drivers are advised to exercise caution when traveling through this area.
