Truck Crash, Brush Fire Keep Tolland Responders Busy Friday

Tolland firefighters had a busy day on Friday, responding to a truck crash and a brush fire. The accident occurred at around 7 a.m. on Interstate 84 eastbound, involving two tractor-trailers between exits 68 and 69. While minor injuries were reported, the right lane was closed for some time due to the crash and a large debris field. Heavy wreckers were also at the scene.
Later in the afternoon, at around 4 p.m., Tolland firefighters were called to a brush fire on the 200 block of Crystal Lake Road. The crew quickly extinguished the 20-foot-by-30-foot fire.
No further details were provided about the incidents.
