Both truck drivers involved are expected to be OK.

A truck driver was trapped inside their vehicle for hours after a collision in Sullivan County on Tuesday, according to state police. The incident involved a loaded dump truck and an 18-wheeler, which collided just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wurtsboro Mountain Road and Route 209 in the Village of Wurtsboro.

The Rock Hill Fire Department reported on Facebook that one driver was removed from their vehicle shortly before rescuers arrived, but the other was trapped, requiring three hours of assistance to remove them from the truck. State police say that driver was taken by medevac helicopter to a trauma center with injuries not considered life-threatening. Both truck drivers involved are expected to be okay.

Several residents reached out, stating the accident caused a power outage that impacted some Orange and Rockland utility customers overnight. The crash is the second at the intersection involving commercial vehicles within weeks.

"State police say the cause is under investigation," according to the report.
