A truck fire after a crash near Grapevine Road is causing major delays for travelers on northbound I-5 Wednesday afternoon. The accident involved two semi-trucks around 1:37 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
As of 4:30 p.m., only one lane on the northbound I-5 is open, with other right lanes closed for cleanup and emergency personnel, according to CHP. The lane closures are expected to last into Wednesday night.
The cause of the accident has not been determined yet, but it resulted in a truck fire that caused significant damage. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
