Truck Spills Gravel, Diesel Fuel In Saddle Brook Crash Involving 6 Vehicles

A multi-vehicle accident occurred in Saddle Brook, New Jersey on June 7th at approximately 6:30 a.m. The incident involved a truck that overturned onto the divider and spilled gravel and diesel fuel, resulting in the closure of eastbound express lanes just past Exit 62 and one westbound lane. Responders also reported that chunks of the divider were knocked off as well.
According to witnesses, four other vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash, including a garbage truck. Firefighters from Saddle Brook had to extricate at least one occupant from their vehicle.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation temporarily closed down part of the interstate highway between Exits 62 and 63 so that responders could tend to those injured in the accident and clear away wreckage. Nick's Towing Service sent heavy wreckers to handle this job.
Police reported that there were no serious injuries reported on scene, but that the crash remains under investigation.
