On Thursday, November 30, 2023, at approximately 6:53 a.m., an accident occurred in Buffalo County, Wisconsin. According to a press release from the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved a truck and a semi on State Road 35 near the 5A Dam.

The report states that Joseph Gassen of Trempealeau was identified as the driver of the truck. Gassen was traveling northbound on State Road 35 when he slowed down or stopped in the northbound lane to make a left turn into the entrance of the 5A Dam. At this point, Shannon Modene from Wells, Minnesota collided with Gassen's truck from behind while driving a semi tractor and trailer.

Emergency services were called to the scene and Gassen was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. The press release does not mention any injuries sustained by Modene.
