Truck going wrong way on I-65 causes multiple collisions in Indianapolis

Driver seriously injured, multiple collisions being investigated by Indiana State Police
Indianapolis police are investigating a series of collisions that occurred on the city's south side after a truck was seen going the wrong way on Interstate 65. The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. last Friday, and according to reports, multiple vehicles were involved in accidents caused by the errant driver.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to the scene along with Indiana State Police after an officer spotted the truck speeding southbound in the northbound lane of I-65 north of Southport Road. The vehicle eventually crashed into a guardrail south of Southport Road, seriously injuring its driver.
An IMPD officer who arrived at the scene applied a tourniquet to the driver’s leg before EMS crews arrived and began giving medical aid. According to IMPD, at least two other car collisions occurred on the interstate while going in opposite directions due to this incident.
Indiana State Police is currently investigating these crashes as they believe medical issues may have been a significant factor in causing them. No information has been provided regarding the current condition of any drivers or passengers involved in these accidents.
