Interstate closed until fire was extinguished

A two-car crash caused a fire that led to the closure of both northbound lanes of Interstate 89 between the Sharon and Bethel exits on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m., with video footage from the scene showing heavy smoke and flames shooting into the sky.

According to Vermont State Police, one of the vehicles involved in the collision caught fire, leading authorities to close down the interstate until firefighters were able to extinguish it. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this accident.
