Two-car crash in Massapequa injures male, 74 and male, 56

The 74-year-old male sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. The second male, 56, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries to his wrist.
Police Report One Person in Critical Condition Following Two-Car Crash
According to police reports, a two-car crash occurred on Thursday night in Massapequa, leaving one person in critical condition. The incident took place at the intersection of Joludow Drive and Merrick Road around 8:30 p.m.
The first vehicle involved was being driven by a 74-year-old male who was traveling westbound on Merrick Road. The second vehicle was being operated by a 56-year-old male who was traveling eastbound. Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided at the intersection of Joludow Drive.
As a result of the accident, the elderly driver sustained serious injuries and had to be transported to the hospital where he is currently listed as being in critical condition. On the other hand, the younger driver only suffered minor injuries to his wrist and has been treated for it.
Merrick Road remained closed throughout most of last night but has since reopened in both directions between Arlyn Road West and Joludow Drive this morning.
Further details about what caused this tragic accident have not yet been released by authorities.
