Tavares Police Respond to Fiery Crash Involving Two Vehicles
Police in Tavares, Florida responded to a crash involving two vehicles on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in front of AdventHealth Waterman.
According to the police report, a Hyundai was making a left turn onto a street leading to AdventHealth Waterman when it was struck by a Ford Mustang traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 441.
The impact caused the Mustang to flip and hit an electrical box belonging to SECO, which then caught fire and engulfed the vehicle in flames.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with critical injuries but are now reported as stable. The drivers have been identified as a 17-year-old male and a 77-year-old woman.
No further details about their conditions have been released at this time.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by local authorities.
