A tragic accident in Napa County, California has claimed the lives of two cyclists visiting from Portland, Oregon. Christian and Michelle Deaton were killed on Tuesday when they were struck by wood that fell off a passing truck. The incident occurred on the Silverado Trail, just north of Oak Knoll Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that around 11 a.m., a load of wood being hauled by a passing truck shifted and hit both cyclists. Christian died at the scene while Michelle was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
