Two people died, one person suffered minor injuries
Two individuals have tragically lost their lives following a two-car crash that occurred on Tuesday morning near Apollo High School in Glendale. The incident took place at approximately 4 a.m. close to the intersection of 47th and Northern Avenues.
Authorities have reported that both victims, a man and a woman who were traveling together in one of the vehicles, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed to their injuries later on. At this time, their identities have not been disclosed.
The driver of the second vehicle was the sole occupant and sustained only minor injuries as a result of the collision.
The cause of this tragic collision is still under investigation, but it is known that the first vehicle came to rest on the property of Apollo High School causing damage to a fence.
In response to the accident, Northern Avenue was temporarily closed off between 43rd and 51st Avenues. This road closure has had an impact on students attempting to make their way to school.
No further details regarding the crash have been released by authorities at this time.
