Adult and Infant Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on I-15 in Fallbrook

Two dead, four injured
Two people, an adult and an infant, lost their lives in a three-vehicle traffic collision on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred on southbound Interstate 15, south of State Route 76. Four others were injured and taken to the hospital, with one person suffering from major injuries and three with minor injuries, according to Capt. John Choi of the North County Fire Protection District.
The crash, which happened at around 3:14 p.m. on Sunday, involved a black pickup truck, a white Tesla, and a black sedan, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The pickup truck overturned and landed on its roof, while the black sedan was smoking. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The ages and genders of the deceased have not been released yet, said Capt. Choi. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene at 3:37 p.m., but it was unclear which vehicle or vehicles the deceased had been in.
The accident caused all lanes of southbound I-15 south of Mission Road in Fallbrook to be blocked for several hours, causing traffic on both southbound and northbound I-15 to be backed up for hours. All lanes were reopened by 11 p.m. on Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol is urging anyone with information about the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
