Two Dead in Head-On Collision in Tolland: Amanda Bowen and Bryan Flint

Two people died and two others sustained minor injuries.
TOLLAND, Conn. (Accident.NEWS) - Two people have died after a head-on collision in Tolland. The accident occurred on Merrow Road (Route 195) near Rhodes Road, according to Tolland town manager Brian Foley. The incident happened before 1:25 p.m. and resulted in the closure of Route 195 at Goose Lane, which has since reopened.
State Police reported that a Subaru Legacy was traveling northbound on Merrow Road while a Toyota Rav4 was traveling southbound. The Toyota crossed the double yellow lines while taking a right curve, traveling into the northbound lane, and colliding with the Subaru head-on. The driver of the Toyota, Amanda Bowen, 66, of Coventry, and the driver of the Subaru, Bryan Flint, 64, of Ellington, both sustained fatal injuries. Two other passengers in the Subaru, a 7-year-old and a 9-year-old, sustained minor injuries.
