Two Drivers Seriously Injured in Crash Near Woodstock

Both drivers suffered serious injuries.
A woman and another driver were seriously injured in a crash near Woodstock on Tuesday, resulting in heavy damage to a pickup truck and an SUV. The incident occurred on the 3600 block of North Route 47 in unincorporated Woodstock.
Emergency services, including the McHenry County Sheriff's Office and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District, responded to the scene after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision with a possible rolled-over vehicle. Witnesses had initially reported that one of the victims had been ejected from their vehicle.
Fire crews arrived within eight minutes and discovered both vehicles heavily damaged on the roadway. Fortunately, both drivers were found seated along the road communicating with sheriff's deputies. However, they had sustained serious injuries as they were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
Due to the severity of their injuries, two medical helicopters were requested for immediate transportation. One LifeNet helicopter landed nearby at Northwood Middle School while awaiting transport for an adult female driver who was airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Meanwhile, the adult male driver of the grey pickup truck was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in Woodstock.
The cause of this crash is currently under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office; however, no further details have been released at this time.
