Two Dump Trucks Collide in Lapel, Indiana: Anderson Man and Fairmount Man Injured

The Fairmount man was airlifted to Methodist Hospital with serious injuries, and the Anderson man was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson with minor injuries.
A man from Grant County, Indiana was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after a collision between two dump trucks in Madison County on Monday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. near the intersection of State Road 38 and State Road 13, close to Lapel.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Madison County Sheriff's Department, both dump trucks were traveling west on State Road 38 towards a stop sign when the rear truck collided with the lead truck. The driver of the lead truck, a 59-year-old Anderson resident, sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson for treatment. On the other hand, the driver of the rear truck, a 52-year-old Fairmount resident, suffered serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Methodist Hospital.
Both dump trucks involved in this accident are owned by S&H Trucking located in Anderson.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused this crash and are currently conducting further investigations into its circumstances.
