Two Dead in Saluda and Barnwell County Crashes

One driver died on the scene and the other died in the hospital.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating two separate crashes that occurred in Saluda and Barnwell counties, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The first accident took place on Friday at approximately 10 a.m. on Mulberry Road at Rays Crossing Road, which is located six miles east of Barnwell.
Reports indicate that a 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Mulberry Road when it collided with a 1999 Ford Ranger that was turning out of private property. Tragically, the driver of the Ford Ranger passed away at the scene while the driver of the Camry was transported to Piedmont Hospital for medical attention.
The second incident occurred on May 21 around 8:50 p.m., claiming one life after an accident on Martin Luther King Ave in Saluda County. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2004 Ford sedan was traveling westbound on Hazzard Circle when it crossed over Martin Luther King Ave and veered off-road into a ditch before colliding with trash cans and two homes.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived shortly thereafter and transported the driver to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries several days later. At this time, authorities have not released any information regarding either victim's identity.
As investigations continue into both accidents by South Carolina Highway Patrol officials, we extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by these tragic events.
