Two Injured in Crash on Dan Ryan Expressway

Both injured individuals were transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Two individuals have been injured in a crash that caused traffic congestion on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday morning. The incident took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-94 near Taylor Street, according to Illinois State Police.
The collision occurred when a passenger vehicle collided with a semi-trailer, resulting in both vehicles striking a concrete median barrier. Tragically, the driver of the passenger vehicle was fully ejected from the crash, while a passenger was partially ejected. Both victims sustained life-threatening injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the truck driver involved in the accident escaped unharmed.
As authorities commenced their investigation into the incident, outbound lanes at Roosevelt were temporarily blocked off to ensure an unhindered examination of the scene. However, by 7:00 a.m., all lanes had reopened for regular traffic flow.
