Ted and Tammy Gould Injured in Single Motorcycle Crash

Ted sustained serious head injuries, Tammy sustained serious injuries to her head and back, and the motorcycle was severely damaged.
In a single motorcycle accident on Friday afternoon, two individuals were hospitalized in the Town of Portland. According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at approximately 12:37 p.m. on State Highway 33 and Ocelot Road.
The crash was reported to the 911 Communications Center, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Ted and Tammy Gould from Iowa were traveling westbound on Highway 33 as part of a group of motorcyclists when they encountered a curve.
Tragically, Ted's motorcycle lost traction after hitting gravel while negotiating the curve. This caused their vehicle to veer off the road and into the north ditch. The motorcycle continued for about 70 feet before overturning and ejecting both riders.
As a result of this harrowing incident, Ted suffered serious head injuries while Tammy sustained severe injuries to her head and back. It is worth noting that neither individual was wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Emergency medical personnel promptly arrived at the scene to provide initial treatment for both victims. Subsequently, Tammy was airlifted by Gunderson Air to a hospital located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Meanwhile, Ted was transported via Tri-State Ambulance to another hospital also situated in La Crosse.
Assisting agencies included not only Monroe County Sheriff's Office but also Cashton First Responders, Cashton Fire Department, Tri-State Ambulance, Gundersen Air (air ambulance service), and Rush Hour Towing.
