One dead at the scene, one dead at the Suwannee ER, minor injuries for others
In a tragic incident early Monday morning, two men lost their lives in a car accident on US Highway 90. The collision occurred in front of the Jiffy Food Store at approximately 5:30 a.m.*
The Florida Highway Patrol swiftly responded to an emergency call reporting the crash. According to authorities, a sedan traveling westbound on US Highway 90 attempted to make a left turn into the Jiffy Food Store driveway. Unfortunately, it was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound pickup truck towing a trailer.
Regrettably, both occupants of the sedan suffered fatal injuries as a result of the impact. The man seated in the back seat was pronounced dead at the scene while his fellow passenger succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at Suwannee ER. Shockingly, neither individual had been wearing their seatbelt when tragedy struck.
Meanwhile, emergency medical services transported the driver of the sedan to Suwannee ER for treatment of minor injuries sustained during this devastating incident. Additionally, both individuals occupying the pickup truck received medical attention for minor injuries right at the scene.
Authorities are currently investigating all aspects surrounding this heartbreaking accident and have not released any further details regarding potential causes or contributing factors leading up to this collision.
