Mother and Son Killed in Car and Train Collision in Wilcox County

A tragic accident occurred in Wilcox County when a car collided with a train, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident took place near the intersection of Highway 159 and Double Run Road, close to the Wilcox-Turner County line.

According to reports from the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol, Brandy Drinnon, 35, and her son Dallas Dozier, 17, lost their lives during the collision. It was revealed that Dozier was driving at the time of the incident.

Eyewitnesses indicated that Dozier attempted to cross the tracks by maneuvering around the crossing arms. It has been confirmed by Georgia State Patrol that at that moment, warning lights were flashing at the crossing as well.

Tragically both occupants were ejected from their vehicle due to impact forces and pronounced dead at the scene. In response to this devastating event, State Route 90 had to be temporarily closed for approximately two and a half hours following the crash.

Georgia State Patrol is currently leading an investigation into this unfortunate incident.
