Two people have been killed in a crash on 460 near W. River Road in Salem, Virginia. All lanes of traffic are closed. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Roanoke Fire-EMS has confirmed that a tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, October 3rd, resulting in the loss of two lives. The crash took place on 460 near W. River Road, but the identities of the victims have not been disclosed at this time.
As a result of the incident, all lanes of traffic are currently closed. Motorists should anticipate delays and are strongly advised to avoid the area until further notice.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has also reported an accident on US-460 near W River Rd; Rt. 639N/S in Roanoke County. Both eastbound and westbound lanes have been shut down due to this unfortunate event, causing traffic congestion for approximately half a mile.
