Two killed in high-speed crash in Spout Springs: Rasaahn A. Cox and Emily Brady

Two people died, two others survived and were taken to a hospital in Cumberland County.
According to authorities, a high-speed crash in Harnett County last week resulted in the death of two individuals who were ejected from their car. The incident occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday along Buffalo Lake Road near Valley View Court.
Sgt. N.M. Oxendine of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that before the accident, a burgundy Dodge Charger was traveling northbound on Buffalo Lake Road "at a high rate of speed." The driver lost control and ran off the road to the right but overcorrected and went off the road to the left.
The vehicle hit a ditch, became airborne, and flew over Valley View Court where it collided with another ditch bank. It then rolled over and knocked down small trees before coming to rest.
Rasaahn A. Cox, 26, who was driving at the time of the accident was ejected from his seat during impact and landed after hitting against side wall of home nearby which caused his death as per Sgt.Oxendine's statement.
Emily Brady (19), who was sitting in rear-seat also got ejected out due to the collision. She too passed away as a result.
Oxendine stated that reckless driving coupled with excessive speed contributed significantly towards this fatal wreck; none of them were wearing seatbelts at that moment.
Two other passengers survived but sustained injuries requiring hospitalization in Cumberland County according to Oxendine's report.
