Two killed in Salem pickup truck crash: Ian Natanael Ramirez-Carlos and unidentified 15-year-old girl

Two people died, three others were injured and taken to Salem Health.
Two people were killed in a car accident early Friday morning, according to Salem Police. The incident occurred at around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Kuebler Boulevard and 27th Avenue SE.
The police report states that the vehicle involved was a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Kuebler with five passengers, two of whom were riding in the bed of the truck. The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to leave the road and hit a light post before rolling over and landing on its top.
As a result, both individuals who were riding in the bed of the truck were thrown from it and died at the scene. One victim has been identified as 18-year-old Ian Natanael Ramirez-Carlos while police have yet to identify the other deceased individual who is believed to be a 15-year-old girl.
The remaining three passengers fled from the scene but were later found by authorities with assistance from K9 units. They sustained injuries during their escape attempt and have been taken to Salem Health for treatment.
Eastbound lanes on Kuebler Boulevard remained closed for four hours following this tragic event while investigations continue into what caused this fatal crash.
